BURNSLEY HOTEL - PENTHOUSE REMODEL -- Denver, Colorado
Built as apartments in the 1960s, the Burnsley was converted to a hotel in the 70s. Four two story penthouses with large balconies and expansive mountain and city views were left empty and unchanged for the decades that followed.
In 2008 renovation was done to create high-end hotel suite offerings timed to serve the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Our design challenge was to provide updated contemporary open spaces within the constraints of very minimal floor-to-floor heights and tight footprints in mid-century concrete construction.
