Concept design for a complete facade renovation of a 1960s office building within the Colfax Avenue Business Improvement District created a facade that more closely complimented the surrounding historic context.
With no existing drawings available, complete measurement and documentation of the existing building was the first requirement. BOMA calculations for leasing and contracting purposes were completed, as well as a review and study for code and accessibility compliance.
The concept plan included strategies for the removal and re-facing of the building exterior while it remained fully occupied. The new facade also offered opportunity to incorporate green provisions with energy efficient wall panels and fenestration.
